SONIC VELOCITY STORED IN MEMORY
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
EASY TO READ LCD
AUTO POWER OFF
ONE BUTTON OPERATION
The AD-3253 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge uses ultrasonic waves to determine the thickness of a wide variety of solid objects from metals to plastics.
It is a digital instrument that transmits and receives the ultrasonic waves and displays material-under-test thickness.
Compact and Lightweight
The AD-3253B weighs only 180 g and is easy to carry and use. Its light weight allows hours of fatigue free operation.
Easy to Operate
Place the probe on the test material and the AD-3253B automatically displays the correct thickness. No special qualifications or training are required.
Easy to Read LCD Display
Displays both measured thickness and sonic velocity of the sample.
Sonic Velocity Stored into Memory
Sonic velocities are easily entered into the AD-3253B through simple up and down keys. When a new entry is made, it replaces the previous entry and stores the new one until changed, even if the unit is powered off or the battery is changed.
Determine Unknown Sonic Velocities
Simply calibrate the AD-3253 against a known test block and place the probe on the sample material of the same thickness. One button operation sets the unit to the proper thickness and the AD-3253B
Low Battery Indicator
Low Battery appears when the battery needs replacing, after which the operator has one hour of operation before battery replacement is required.
Selectable Units of Measure
When performing thickness measurements, the operator can easily select between inches or millimeters units-of-measure.
Automatic Power-Off Function
The AD-3253B operates continuously for more than 30 hours from one AA alkaline battery (25″, 5 mm sample thickness) and, automatically powers off the unit after 5 minutes of non-use, substantially extending operating life between battery changes.
Applications
Thickness Measurement, Corrosion Test, Inspection
Range of Materials-Under-Test
Steel, Titanium, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Glass, Ceramic, Plastic, and so forth.
